Ask and you shall receive.

I asked for less stress in my life so I could live better
I was given peace so I could start living
I asked for more talent so I could do wonderful things
I was given goodness so I could do the right thing
I asked for more authority so everyone could look up to me
I was given kindness so I could respect everyone

I asked for lots of opportunities so I could get ahead
I was given joy so I could look forward to tomorrow
I asked for lots of money so I could have more freedom
I was given self control so I could keep my freedom
I asked to live forever so I could do everything
I was given patience so I could accept and finish what I can

I asked for a perfect relationship so I could feel good about love
I was given faith so I could love myself and therefore love others
I asked to be real smart so I wouldn’t ever be told what to do, have or say
I was given understanding and respect so I would have no regrets about what I do, have or say
I asked for power so I could really live life
I was given love so I could have a life worth living

I received nothing I asked for
But was given more than I hoped for
My prayers were answered.
